Trisha served as Director of the Austin Convention Center Department from 2020 to 2026, culminating a 24‑year career with the City of Austin that began as an intern in 2002. Over the course of her tenure, she developed deep institutional knowledge and operational expertise through multiple senior leadership roles, overseeing event, facility, and parking operations, as well as building maintenance, sustainability initiatives, and capital improvement projects.

As Director, Trisha guided the department through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID‑19 pandemic and its significant impact on the tourism industry, leading to the successful reopening of the department’s convention facilities for events in 2021. One of the most significant milestones of her career was providing executive leadership for the $1.6 billion Austin Convention Center redevelopment and expansion project—overseeing the initiative from concept and demolition through design and the start of construction, in close collaboration with city leadership and project management partners. The newly, expanded convention center will nearly double in size, feature outdoor programming space, include a significant investment in art in public spaces and become the first carbon neutral convention center in the world, Under her leadership, the department has already successfully secured future bookings for the new Convention Center, scheduled to open in 2029, positioning the facility to deliver sustained economic impact for the City of Austin for decades to come.
