Greenland International Exposition Center

From master plan to occupancy

Conventional Wisdom was the master planning, programming, and operations consultant to the architects for the Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center complex. The complex is planned in two phases and includes over 150,000 square meters of enclosed exhibition halls and 10,000 square meters of outdoor display area. Other supporting elements in the complex include one or two headquarters hotels, a conference center, office tower, and retail/commercial space.

The initial phase of construction includes fourteen exhibition hall modules, each approximately 9,200 square meters, on two levels. Each module has its own arrival court and registration area to allow halls to be used individually or combined to maximize flexibility. Loading docks serve both levels to maximize efficiency for load-in and tear-down.

A small complement of meeting, office and support space is accessible from each hall module to meet the current market demand. In anticipation of market changes that follow industry trends, the arrival court, and outdoor display areas are configured to allow additional meeting space to be constructed as needed without disrupting ongoing events in the Exhibition Center.
