Connecting to the heart of downtown
Nashville, Tennessee
The Music City Center in downtown Nashville is two blocks south of Broadway – the heart of the city’s music scene. The design goal is to reinforce Nashville’s identity as a live music destination and to provide the acoustical quality and production support that makes every assembly and prefunction space performance ready. A pop-up stage might be found anywhere in the building.
Conventional Wisdom led a team of urban planners, cost estimators, mechanical and electrical engineers in preparing the site analysis and facility program for the Music City Center project. A district planning approach evaluated adjacent land uses for convention center expansion, one or more headquarter hotels, and parking facilities to accommodate both uses. The program includes 375,000 square feet of exhibition space, 80,000 square feet of ballroom space and 100,000 square feet of meeting space.
