Phoenix Convention Center
Connecting the Community
Phoenix, Arizona
The City of Phoenix retained Conventional Wisdom to lead a multidisciplinary team to master plan the expansion of the Phoenix Civic Plaza, now renamed as the Phoenix Convention Center. CW developed a plan for a multi-phased expansion/reconstruction of the existing facility to ultimately house one million square feet of exhibit space, a 50,000 squarefoot ballroom, 300,000 square feet of meeting rooms, and two full-service hotels totaling over 1,000 rooms.
Through three separate Milestone Reports, Conventional Wisdom guided the master planning and programming efforts for the expansion project and supported the Center’s management team through legislative approval and two design phases. CW also assisted with identifying and procuring FF&E through to the pre-opening activities.
Conventional Wisdom continues to serve as management consultant to the Convention Center, conducting a staffing and organizational analysis, and post-occupancy evaluation of the facilities.
